Kelly Sears Consulting Group was founded in 2001 by Michael Kelly and Garry Sears, following successful careers with KPMG.

Michael Kelly

Michael Kelly

Michael Kelly has, over the last 21 years, provided a wide range of management consulting services to the public sector, primarily federal government departments and municipalities. Areas of expertise include expenditure reviews, management diagnostics, performance measurement, and strategic/business planning. He is fluently bilingual (English and French, written and spoken). Michael has worked extensively with the federal small agency community in the areas of planning and performance measurement.

Garry Sears

Garry Sears

Garry Sears has 27 years of consulting experience, specializing in management diagnostics, program evaluation, strategic planning, performance measurement and survey research. He has directed and/or participated in over 200 consulting studies on behalf of a wide range of public, private and not-for-profit sector clients throughout Canada and internationally. Prior to founding Kelly Sears Consulting Group with Michael Kelly in 2001, he spent 22 years with KPMG, where he led the firm's federal government consulting practice. He is a member of the Board of Advisors of the CATA Alliance, Canada's leading association of high technology companies and the Board of Directors of the Colorectal Cancer Association of Canada. He is former president of the Canadian Evaluation Society-National Capital Chapter and of the Strategic Planning Forum - National Capital Chapter.

Kenneth-Roy Bonin

Kenneth-Roy Bonin is a Senior Associate specializing in consulting to the university sector across Canada. He holds graduate degrees from the University of Alberta and Drexel University in Philadelphia and a doctorate in higher education administration from the University of Toronto. In 2005, he finished a five-year term as president of the University of Sudbury. He has 26 years of management experience and a range of successful consulting projects in both the public and private sectors. Particularly areas of specialty include organizational design, new program assessments and strategic planning.

William (Bill) Murray

William (Bill) Murray is a Senior Associate who specializes in providing consulting services to the North American entertainment industry. Based in Los Angeles, Bill has worked with Kelly Sears on many evaluation and performance measurement projects for such clients as Department of Canadian Heritage and Telefilm Canada. He is a former senior executive with the Motion Picture Association, the international trade association representing the international interests of the major Hollywood studios. He is a consultant in media strategy, digital content protection, audiovisual regulation, film production tax policy, and international government relations.

Corey Doering

Corey Doering is a Senior Associate, specializing in business process re-design and change management. She has over ten years of success in developing and implementing business transformation solutions, ranging from minor interventions to organizational-wide transformation. She has a high level of skill in project management, facilitation, and team building. She is a former Principal with KPMG Consulting. Corey has worked with Kelly Sears on several business process re-design and organizational transformation projects.

Vasantha Narasimhan

Vasantha Narasimhan, MA, MBA, is a Senior Associate specializing in market research, with twenty-five years of consulting experience.  She has conducted over two hundred market research studies in a variety of sectors.  Her key expertise is in new product development and positioning, demand assessment, and competitive analysis.  Ms. Narasimhan has also served on the University of Ottawa’s MBA programme as part time professor of market research.  She is typically known for value-added enhancements to data collection methods in order to increase the robustness of the analysis and the reliability and validity of information underlying strategic decisions. 

Glen Drodge

Glen Drodge is a Senior Associate with extensive experience in capacity assessments, evaluation of information technology, and project management.  He has led capacity assessments at a number of federal departments and agencies.  Glen was previously Managing Director of the Government consulting practice of BearingPoint in Ottawa.

Peter Brackenridge

Peter Brackenridge is a Senior Associate of Kelly Sears and has led capacity assessments in the regulatory sector.  He has extensive experience in managing large and complex decentralized regulatory organizations, having held senior positions as Vice President, Operations and Vice President, Programs in the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).  he is fluent in both official languages.

Deborah Dickson

Deborah Dickson is a Senior Associate of Kelly Sears and has been actively involved in capacity assessments with Kelly Sears  She held senior positions at the CBC in human resources management, and has acquired a broad range of experience in organizational development and project management.

Mike Senyshen

Mike Senyshen, an expert in activity based costing, is responsible for the costing analysis done as part of Kelly Sears capacity assessments.  He is an ABC costing expert with previous experience as a senior professional with Accenture and KPMG.
