Kelly Sears Consulting Group was founded in 2001 by Michael Kelly and Garry Sears, following successful careers with KPMG.
Michael Kelly
Michael Kelly has, over the last 25 years, provided a wide range of management consulting services to the public sector, primarily at the federal level. He has particular expertise in leading large-scale expenditure reviews/capacity assessments of government operations. Other areas of expertise include performance measurement and strategic/business planning. He is fluently bilingual (English and French, written and spoken). Michael along with Garry Sears co-founded Kelly Sears Consulting Group in 2001.
Garry Sears
Garry Sears has over 30 years of consulting experience, specializing in program evaluation, strategic planning, performance measurement and expenditure reviews. He has directed over 250 consulting studies on behalf of a wide range of public, private and not-for-profit sector clients throughout Canada and internationally. He has particular experience in conducting research and evaluation studies in Canada’s cultural sector. Prior to founding Kelly Sears Consulting Group with Michael Kelly in 2001, he spent 22 years with KPMG, where he led the firm's federal government consulting practice and directed the Ottawa consulting office. He is currently Chair of the Colorectal Cancer Association of Canada. He is former president of the Canadian Evaluation Society-National Capital Chapter and the Strategic Planning Forum - National Capital Chapter.
Elizabeth McDonald
Elizabeth McDonald is a Senior Associate with Kelly Sears with over 25 years of experience in government relations, advocacy, organizational management and public relations on behalf of industry sectors. She has held executive positions with several industry associations, including the Canadian Solar Industries Association, the Canadian Film and Television Production Association, the Canadian Cable Television Association and the Canadian Association of Broadcasters.
Glen Drodge
Glen Drodge is a Senior Associate with over 30 years of experience in expenditure reviews, evaluation of information technology, and project management. He has led expenditure reviews at a number of federal departments and agencies. Glen was previously Managing Director with the Government consulting practice of KPMG Consulting in Ottawa.
Corey Doering
Corey Doering is a Senior Associate, specializing in business process re-design, change management and expenditure reviews. She has over 15 years of success in developing and implementing business transformation solutions, ranging from minor interventions to organizational-wide transformation. She has a high level of skill in project management, facilitation, and team building. She is a former Principal with KPMG Consulting. Corey has worked with Kelly Sears on many consulting projects over the past decade.
Peter Brackenridge
Peter Brackenridge is a Senior Associate of Kelly Sears and has led expenditure reviews in the regulatory sector and facilitated strategic planning retreats. He has a particular focus on the regulatory sector, having managed large and complex decentralized regulatory organizations, including senior positions as Vice President, Operations and Vice President, Programs at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). He is fluent in both official languages.
Deborah Dickson
Deborah Dickson is a Senior Associate of Kelly Sears and has been actively involved in many expenditure reviews with Kelly Sears She held senior positions at the CBC in human resources management, and has acquired a broad range of experience in organizational development and project management.
Vasantha Narasimhan
Vasantha Narasimhan, MA, MBA, is a Senior Associate specializing in market research, with 30 years of consulting experience. She has conducted over two hundred market research studies in a variety of sectors. Her key expertise is in new product development and positioning, demand assessment, and competitive analysis. Ms. Narasimhan has also served on the University of Ottawa’s MBA programme as part time professor of market research.
Mike Senyshen
Mike Senyshen, an expert in activity-based costing, is responsible for the costing analysis done as part of expenditure reviews carried out by Kelly Sears. He is an ABC costing expert with previous experience as a senior professional with Accenture and KPMG.
Peter Hadwen
During his 25 year career Peter Hadwen has been driven by a conviction that business success and professional satisfaction comes from great persistence in bringing purpose, process and people together to meet client needs. He has developed a rare combination of management consulting skills that bridge key managerial disciplines important to program and service delivery success. Peter has developed governance and process to ensure the right management and consultative structures and processes are in place for decision making. He has developed plans and performance measures to ensure alignment of activities to the clear objectives and performance expectations and measures. Finally, he has assisted organizations in restructuring organization and process to better meeting future operating needs. This last work has taken him to varying countries in the developing and developed world to bring Canadian practices to foreign markets.
